IN-CHARACTER:
Character name: Hiro Hamada
Character journal: [personal profile] everydayhero
Series name: Big Hero 6
Canon notes: End of Movie + DF memories from his prior year-long sta

Species: Human

History: have a wiki link

Personality:
→Hiro hamada is first and foremost a genius, excelling at fields such as engineering and robotics. He graduated high school at 13, and won acceptance into what is probably his world’s most prestigious robotics program with his inventions. This shaped his early personality, namely how he treats other people.

→As a result, he’s not much of one for friends. At the beginning of the story, the only people he actually likes are his family. He’s sassy, cocky, and unapologetic about it, and it tends to turn people off to the whole “befriend the guy who’s smarter than you” thing. While he cares about people as a concept, in practice, he tends to use anybody that isn’t family to boost his own ego.

→Luckily for Hiro, he grows out of this as the events progress and he learns to trust others and accept help. While he’s still a little awkward around introductions and learning to connect with people outside of science, he’s much more empathetic and more often finds himself in positive social interactions than before.

→ He’s still a dork who likes kung-fu movies and bot-fighting. Hiro is a 14-year-old, even if he’s worlds wiser than any 14-year-old should have the experience to be. He can’t talk to girls, his voice is still cracking, and he’s probably never going to actually “grow up”.

→ He has a tendency to let his anger get the best of him at times, but on a large scale, we only see it in a horribly destructive manner when he’s at his most desperate and provoked. Still, he’s easy to work up if you can fluster him; he’s not used to it, being so intelligent. His cockiness can easily become his downfall.

→ When push comes to shove, his moral compass has him firmly planted in the hero category. He’ll sacrifice himself if he has to if the end goal is saving a life.

→ Pretty much everything he does at this point in his life is fueled by his brother and the things he taught him. Tadashi's lessons on doing what's right and handling your problems are what Hiro keeps at his core.

→ In Drift Fleet, Hiro has further learned about leadership and communication. After captaining the SS Bishop through an attack (and being present and key in the repair of the fleet after the first one), he’s become more disciplined and responsible than he used to be.

→ He’s also come to terms (as much as he can without seeing Callaghan) with his anger over what happened to him, and with his horror over what he did. There are still significant signs of a guilt complex, which he likely won’t be able to resolve without proper closure, but through talking things out with Ino and Tadashi, he’s been able to accept that it was human, however terrifying, to react the way he did.

Abilities: (from the old app) As previously stated, he’s a genius, so he learns things incredibly fast. After speaking to the mods about the subject, his augment would stop his brain from processing information about other stations on his ship(s) that he is not equipped to know about.
Augment Skillset: Engineer Extraordinaire

[the feed crackles on audio as hiro fumbles with it a little bit, but after a moment, he clears his throat.]

It was April when I went to sleep, but my comm says it’s June. Any chance there’s some kinda error on the display? Are all our gadgets going crazy?

[there has to be another reason for the date changing. for him being here, on the marsiva, instead of in his room. he can’t accept that he was gone without someone telling him.]

Is the Bishop okay? We were attacked again?

[he’ll ask every question he can think of, except for “where’s my brother?” the fear is already creeping into his mind that something’s happened to him, or to belthazar, or ino. if he slept through their leaving, he’ll never forgive himself.]

This is Hiro Hamada, captain of the SS Bishop… what the heck happened?
