[ yeah, he can definitely tell that hiro's a little subdued there, but he's going to try to push past it. it's okay, little brother: maybe it wasn't when he first heard about it, but it is now, and that's exactly why he waited to mention it. ]

You seriously need to work on that competitive streak you have going with me, you know. I like robotics, suddenly you're a robotics prodigy. I build a nurse bot to help people, you decide to be a superhero... I'm gonna get a complex, squirt.

[he almost sounds defensive, but it's not quite that. there's conflict in his voice.]

... I just thought it was time for me to use that big brain of mine for something good.

[he gives a little half-smile.]

Hey. There's nothing wrong with thinking big.

[ he reaches to squeeze his shoulder, because he's trying his best to be as reassuring as he can be. ]

... you don't have to apologize to me for being a hero.

... [he's never felt pride so guilty before.]

I don't want to apologize for what I do. Hiding it, maybe... but I'm helping people.

[ishere]

You are. I guess you're a pretty okay kid.

[ he rubs at his wrists again, stretching as they dock. ]

Good. You need to.

[anything to get the attention off of my life at home and things i'm not telling you.]

[ishere]

Do me a favor and don't bring, uh- all of this up to anyone, alright? Let me salvage a little of my pride.

[everydayhero]

... You mean I'm not allowed to chew Allen out?

[ishere]

I'd like to avoid further kidnapping incidents, so, yeah.

[ let's ignore the fact that he straight up accused allen of kidnapping him to get to hiro... lmf.. ]

[can you feel the heat on this look because you might want to get hiro something to build. or break. either works. he's just very angry.]

[ yeowch. yes, actually, yes he can. tadashi will just sort of fall silent until they're out of the shuttle, because it's his plan to just toss hiro over his shoulder when they're actually back on their feet. ]

[hiro's plan is to go find something to build, so after tadashi gets out, he's trying to climb out too.]

[ nope. tadashi is just going to be manhandling him like a sack of potatoes over his shoulder. ]

[FLAILING. WHAT ARE YOU DOING.]

[he tries to talk but ends up just kind of making annoyed and frustrated grunting noises every time he bounces against tadashi's back. this is ridiculous. put me down this instant.]

[ nope. tadashi will just put an extra bit of bounce in his step, just to be As Annoying As Humanly Possible. ]

Yeaaaah, I think so. I could try to find some juice for you, too, if you think that'll help...

Ah--god--Tadashi!!

[he's so mad, trying to grab at tadashi's legs backwards as he bounces.]

[ishere]

What? Are you trying to say something? Speak up, Hiro, I can barely hear you-

[ and he flops him onto the bunk. ]

--oof!

[he pauses a moment, a little stunned, but then he's scrambling back up to his feet.]

You big goon!

[ishere]

[ tadashi winces, but it's all theater now. ]

Even crankier than I thought. Shh, Hiro, shhhh. Time for a nap-nap.

I'm not taking a nap!

[i am going to hit you with a pillow though.]
