Drift Fleet: IC Inbox

[A catch-all for privately contacting Hiro outside of posts on the network.]

That is precisely what I need them for! If I get you the supplies, how soon would you be able to make a set?

Oh that sounds marvelous! I would love to come by and take a look at it sometime, if you don't mind.

Great! I'll let you know when I have some free time to take a look. If we can get gardens on all the ships it will improve things immensely.

[Hiro if you could only see the grin on her face right now.]

I am sure we will. I know quite a bit about extraterrestrial botany already. I'm interested to see what this universe has to offer.

Not so much intergalactic travel, no. The Milky Way is a big place, after all. We've barely even explored a quarter of it. Interstellar travel, though? Yes! I am the Chief Medical Officer aboard the Starship Enterprise, which is on a continuing mission of exploration.

My, that's a difficult question to answer! One of them would definitely have to be Betazed. It is the homeworld of one of my closest friends, Deanna Troi. The Betazoids are a telepathic race and their planet is really quite stunning: very lush and colorful, full of lakes - far more than there are on Earth - and waterfalls. And since we were talking about plants, there is a species of plant there called Muktok. They live to be hundreds of years old and their flowers chime like little bells in the wind.

There's also Vilmor II, which, admittedly does not seem very interesting on the surface, as it's been mostly dead for billions of years, but we discovered that it was the common genetic source for all humanoid species in the galaxy.

And of course, I'm always going to have a little bit of a soft spot for the planet where I grew up, Caldos III.

I hope that answers your question well enough!

Well, that's good. I'm glad you're holding up well in strange circumstances.

You sound like my son! He was made an honorary ensign on the Enterprise when he was about your age.

It isn't without its dangers... he got himself - and me! - into plenty of trouble. But I think the experience was good for him, as I'm sure it will be for you.

Your brother is here with you?

[Yes, somehow Beverly missed out on all of that. She doesn't watch the Network too often.]

Oh, wonderful! It's good for the fleet to have more medics on hand. I'll be sure to contact him at some point.

Also, if you are interested, I will probably be using the Virtual Reality Dome to recreate my ship at some point, if you would like to take a look at it. It won't be the same as being on the real Enterprise of course, but I'd be happy to give you a tour!
