Would it explode if it were taking in too much at once? Kind of like popping a bubble?

Plants don't explode from too much sun... that was my model, so I didn't think...

Maybe putting a limit on that might make it less likely.

But you'd wanna make sure you have enough for two or three dosages if you're using it to keep yourself fed, just in case you can't recharge it for a bit.

Yes, that was the plan... until it exploded, that is.

[A pause.] Adra has been helping me. But I do want to be-- independent.

You'll be more independent when you aren't hurting for mana. This is kind of a huge thing for you, isn't it?

... The first time I drained mana from something, it died. It just... crumbled into ashes in my hands.

I never had a talent for healing, but I don't want to hurt people to survive.

... You won't have to. I don't know if this is a necessity just because of what you are, or if it's something else, and you don't have to tell me, but... It sounds like, if you can perfect this, you won't have to hurt anybody, even people who give you permission to.

If you can get this to work, I can create artificial sunlight for it.

Yep. Working on growing actual crops, and also working on medical herbs. Most of the planning's been done by other ships, but I'm the one who's been making the grow lights for them. I could make a sunlight chamber for you to put the stones in.

[arcanepower]

[He rubs at his cheek.]

Don't make the sunlight chamber until I've perfected the orb. It's too volatile to use right now. If I can't stabilize it I'll have to scrap it entirely.

But I will find something that works.
