They're very wary of a certain type of person.

they want you to have a decent boyfriend and they didn't know if tadashi was safe.

Well, um, yeah. That was a thing that happened.

So, they were just worried about who he was exactly. It doesn't excuse what they did to Tadashi, but -- a few years ago I dated this guy who sort of ... tried to kill me. And almost succeeded, too, I nearly bled out. They're just kind of overprotective because of that, I guess.

... uh. tadashi won't do that???

It was a complicated situation, but yes, he was very strong. Point being, I just want you to know they aren't totally crazy. And I already yelled at them. A lot.
